A little less than a Year ago I started using a Filofax and I got really addicted to organizing & to using a Planner for my 2Do Lists, to organize my Everyday- & Business-Life, to keep track of things, to stay ahead of tasks … and last but not least to capture memories and Details of my / our life. I started out with a black A5 Filofax Metropol … more or less because it was the one I was able to buy in a local shop and I thought it was good to start with … not long after that – I craved the Filofax Original Fluo Orange … and bought it … THEN … The Original came out with the most adorable Color – the Dark Aqua … and … you guess it … I needed to have it … not to talk about the Personal Sized Domino Patent in Hot Pink and the Personal Sized Cuban in Chilli Red … and the cute “noname” Planner with the Stars (which I just got in my Advent Calendar from my dear friend Ela and I LOVE it – so cute with the stars and love the mint color) … yes … I use most of them (the Dark Aqua is my Everyday Planner, the Fluo Orange is my Blog & Work Planner, the Chilli Red one is my Penpal & Address Planner and the Pink one I use for recipes … and I thought I have found Planner Peace … and I did … until I got my hands on a Midori.
Thought I definitely don’t need one until I was able to see it in person & hold it in my hands, flip through the Pages, feel (and smell) the Leather … am I crazy or what? Another one? A whole new System? Really? But … I got one and moved in already (using it as a Inspiration Journal, Diary and in a third Section as a Sketchbook) … and I’m in LOVE! I mean … REALLY in Love … I’m carrying it around with me all Day and I just LOVe to open it and tough it and add to it … and I think I can say: I even love it more than my Filofaxes …! There – I said it … I even WROTE it … black on white …!
Now is this crazy? I don’t know … but this System of the Midori all of a sudden appeals so much more to me than the ringbinder system of the Filofax … I just LOVE that floppy Leather Wrap and the Strap you put around it – I love the way you can add & remove the Booklets and one of the biggest advantages for me is actually that once you have filled a Booklet and you take it out and replace it with a new one – you still have a whole, bound Booklet with your Stuff to store away & keep and not the loose Pages you take out of a Filofax. Especially for things I’d like to keep (like Sketches, Diary & Journaling, Project Life Pages etc.) that’s so much more convenient than those loose Pages …!
So for 2015 I will DEFINITELY use my Midori for my Project Life / Diary and as a Everyday Sketchbook – so for the more artsy stuff – and I think about getting another one to use as an Artjournal (making the inserts myself with Watercolor Paper) … and I THINK I will keep the Fil0fax System for Planning & Organizing … at least that’s what I’ll try to do … because I just can’t justifie completely switching to the Midori Travelers Notebook System … I can’t ditch my Filofaxes like that … right?!? (please say “You’re absolutely right – you can’t!” *lol*)
So … I’ve rambled enough … now take a look at this Beauty … what’s not to love about it?!?
It’s not crazy. I think the MTN is wonderful for bullet journaling or just journaling your day
Yours is lovely!
I’ve been following you on Cre8tive Cre8tions for ages, and I’ve popped over to check out your new blog…and I’m in love!! The web design, the colours, the wonderful photography, even the name! Amazing!! I have been tempted to start a planner, changing from electronic to beautiful, tactile paper…but I’ve resisted until now as I’m not sure I’d use it. Having seen what you do in yours I think might be enough for me to make the jump!
Where did you purchase your Midori? I am wanting one but don’t know the best place to get one.
In a german Online Shop called Luiban …
Love it!
